Chola Dynasties was one of the longest-ruling Empire in world’s history from 300s BCE to 1279 CE.
Chola Kings are devided in three Part- 1. Early Cholas, 2. Medieval Cholas 3. Later Cholas.

Vijayalaya
- Vijayalaya was the real founder of Chola Empire (850-857) in 9th century, defeated the Pallava Dynastry and took over the control of Tanjaur.
- Tanjaur was first capital of Cholas made by Vijayala in 9 Century.
- He also adopted the title of Narkeshari.
- The temple of Nishumbhasudini was constructed by Vijayalaya
Aditya I
Aditya I succeed the Vijayalaya. He deafeated the Aparajita, conquered the Pallavas and exteded the Power of Chola Dynasty in sounth India.
Parantaka I
Parantaka I conquered the Pandyas and adopted the title of the Muduraikonda (The conqueror of the Madurai). He also invaded the Pallavas and took the titile of Kodandaram.
Rajaraja I
Rajaraja I was son of Parantaka II. The Shiva Temple of Brihadeshwar in Tanjaur was constructed by him, he was follower of Shaivism.
Rajaraja I extended his region by defeating the Pandyas of Madurai, Chalukya of Vengi and Gangas of Maisoor. He annexed the area of the Cheras of Kerala, some south part of the Shri lanka and Islands of Maldives. He is regarded as one of the greatest king of the Chola Dynasty.
Rajendra I
Rajendra I succeeded Rajaraja I and become the most powerful kings of south India, extended the region of the Chola Empire. He defeated the Bengal's Palas king Mahipala and adopted the title of the gangaikondchola. Rajendra I was contemporary of the Mahmud of Ghajani. Rajendra conquered the whole region of Shri Lanka,
He made the new capital of Cholas in Gangaikondcholpuram and created a enormous pond (name- Cholgangam).
Titles of the Rajendra I
Rajendra I adopted the title of the Gangiakond, Kudarkond, Mudirkond and Pandit Chola.
